LazyScoop Review:

Writer Nikhil Mahajan writes a story which is gripping, short, edgy and page turner. Writing is crisp, it had a certain dark tone to it which made it intriguing. Narration flows smoothly with case reports giving a subconscious authenticity to the case Inspector Mathur was handling! Though the case reports were coming up more often in between chapters and later they got boring to be read, they were hurdles in the breezy narration.

In one of the incidents portrayed in the book, a character slaps his girlfriend, after he announces a break up and she tries to know the reason, it didn’t seem morally correct to me. Also Virat being obsessed about just a picture he finds in a book doesn’t seem practical, but having said that, I think its fiction, so getting some creative liberty isn’t wrong as far as the overall book is entertaining.

The three dimensional aspect of the story i.e Virat and Payal, Mahi and Arjun, Inspector Mathur and how all the characters are interlinked was very creative of the author, and was amazing to read. Some of the erotic scenes are written in a very nice way without going overboard or cheap.

The climax was chilling and raised many questions.

LazyScoop Verdict:

White Smoke: The Missing Shimla Girl is a compelling read with lot of twists and turns and interesting plot. It is a story of Love, Romance, Betrayal, and Revenge. It’s not the best books to be read in thrillers, but it’s definitely a good one. And the reader would wait for its sequel to find answers to some questions which the story raises.
