What is it about?

Coming Back Home is an interesting story set in the Background of Hindi Film Industry. Riku is a determined but selfish man who wants to make big in bollywood, and he can do anything for it. Arpita is a small town girl who wants to make her dream of becoming an actress a reality. What happens when these two fall in love with each other? When one’s greed and selfishness to go ahead, tears the other apart? Will Arpita or Riku make big in bollywood? Who betrays who?

The LazyScoop Review:

The story starts at a wonderful pace with narration which flows smoothly. I was super glued to it right from the first chapter itself. Although this book has a vibe of a commercial Hindi Movie, the characters have been potrayed in a realistic way. When you read about Riku, you feel that people like him exist. I felt connected to the characters, and constantly wanted to know where they are heading. Arpita’s character comes out beautifully well, nor in one chapter I felt that author is drifting away from her personality. Same with Riku, Sunny, Sujoy and other characters.

Arpita’s journey from being a struggler to achieving her dreams, to the breaking point which she reaches in her life, makes you fall in love with her. Author has described her so exquisitely that I could literally feel her emotions. When her heart is broken, I felt myself being sad about it.

All the humour in the initial chapters, especially during shoots, the description of shooting, feels realistic and very enjoyable to read.

I liked Sunny’s character as well. I liked how Riku’s fate changes unexpectedly, and felt he deserved it.

What I didn’t like?

In the first chapter itself there is a description of Riku sitting in a small production house, the description of other men sitting with him is, “…some were lanky, some were unimaginably dark and ugly.” It was an extremely racist statement and I was displeased reading it.

Also, The cousin’s marriage which Arpita attends and meets Sujoy seemed dragged.

The LazyScoop Verdict:

Overall, It is a fun and entertaining read and you won’t be disappointed at all. Characterization is wonderfully done. The book’s simple, fun and refreshing story grabs the attention till the end. This book if adapted into a movie, would become a blockbuster for sure.

But unlike others around him, he sees this not as a curse, but as an opportunity to cherish life and all the bitter-sweet gifts it brings with it. Amidst frequent visits to the doctor, multiple surgeries that risk his life being, and a life that meant surveillance all the time, Rick has to fight for himself each day. But he pulls through, thanks to his family and friend Jacob, who become his pillars of strength. And then, at a time when he is least expecting it, and with someone he meets by accident – love happens. It’s a new feeling for his heart and he is scared to lose it. Will Lisa really understand the goodness of his heart or just walk away? Inside the Heart of Hope is a story of strong will, perseverance and optimism which will make you wonder if sky is really the limit.

What is it about?

Inside the Heart of Hope is a story of Rick who wants to live a normal and exciting life just like every other kid of his age, but can’t because of his heart disorder- Aortic Valve Stenosis. According to which he can’t physically imvolve in a lot of perspiring work, or in other words, put a lot of pressure on his heart. Moreover, He is heartbrokem when his girlfriend leaves him for an unexpected reason. Its the journey of the Author from living a miserable life to a life which he desires to live. It is an Inspiring story of how to overcome your insecurities and problems.

The LazyScoop Review:

The story begins on a sensitive note with a prologue where Rick is recollecting his thoughts about his childhood and how different was it from the rest of the kids of his age. His parents are always protective for him which gradually makes him feel restricted. Though the chapters make you feel sympathetic for the main character Rick, the tone of the book gets a bit monotonous. The initial chapters started to feel dragged.

The story actually gets more engaging when Rick meets Lisa by accident. The incident felt very nicely described with a humourous vibe to it. The story then gets more interesting. I liked the second half of the book more than the first few chapters.

Characterization is decent, not the best. You only feel connected to Rick and Lisa to some extent. Rick’s best friend is good but there’s not much about him in the book except situations where he is always there for Rick and how he always motivates him.

The climax was quite heart touching and felt really satisfactory. This book being an emotional and inpiring story couldn’t have ended any other way.

In the end, it made me feel happy and inspired.

The LazyScoop Verdict:

Inside the Heart of Hope is an inspiring story with decent narration. It stays with you because of the emotional elements it has. The narration is good and the love story in the second half gives lot of reasons to smile. Moreover, what makes it more interesting is it’s Author’s real story in a fictionalised manner.
