For the Sake Of Love by Anamika Mishra Book Review

I found the cover of the book to be highly appealing, indicating that it’s going to be a love story! But there are so many love stories already out there. Was this one any different? Read below to find out!

Blurb:

Young, pretty and successful, Twisha Khanna has it all. She works hard and has no time for frivolities like love. After all, being the creative head of a happening travel magazine is no joke.

So when she travels to Shimla on an assignment, the last thing on Twisha’s mind is love. But then, life has other plans. On finding a stack of old love letters that speak of an unrequited romance, Twisha is convinced that she must find the man who wrote these letters and help him.

Along the way, she meets spoilt rich boy Alex, who is everything she would NOT want in a man. As the two try to reunite the old lovers mentioned in the letters, they are hardly aware that how they feel about love and life is going to change forever…

The LazyScoop Book Review:

Twisha Khanna, works for a travel magazine and is told to visit shimla for magazine story along with her irritating colleague Bobby. Their journey takes a turn when they discover some old love letters which shake them to the core. And thus begins the quest to find the man David, who is the writer of those letters and for the person for whom it had been written. Will they be successful in finding that person behind those letters? Will they be able to find the person for whom it been written? Will Alex, the handsome but arrogant grandson of David, get along well with bobby and Twisha?

I think this is one of the best love stories I’ve read. Why? Because there’s not even a single dull moment in this book. We constantly look forward to what’s going to happen next? For whom are those letters for? Will David meet Jasmine? Will Twisha meet David or Jasmine? The start of this novel itself is bang on with those letters, which you read and get insight into the writer of those letters, you wonder how the dates are moving ahead, how his life is changing and questions keep coming in your mind, will he get a reply from the other person or not? What’s going to happen in the end?

I loved how two love stories were intertwined in this book, one eternal and one establishing it’s base as we read it. Characterization is also good, Twisha being independent, I found her to be bit impatient. But she definitely is good at heart. Bobby is shown to be chirpy, and vivacious. She’s the girl who gets excited on small things and is generally very sweet. Alex’s character is good, but I couldn’t completely understand his thoughts and nature. At first he appeared arrogant, and then the opposite, I would’ve liked to know what makes him change his behaviour. There are other characters like David, Yanaji, Jasmine, Eliza and Chris who add depth to the whole story and each one has a purpose.

I liked the conversations between Twisha and Bobby, also the transition in their friendship was interesting to read. I think the writer of this book is really smart, she has woven a love story by adding a heart touching love story in the backdrop and she doesn’t let the story be monotonous by making all the characters different from each other.

The narration is simple and it wonderfully flows ahead. All the description of mountains and scenaries are beautiful written. The pace is apt, it went fast where it needed to be and gave ample description of emotions and feelings of Twisha where it needed to be, to establish a connect with the reader. The Climax of the book is unpredictable. It’s emotional and yet would bring a smile on your face.

LazyScoop Verdict:

There are writers who write long chapters and yet sometimes fail to establish an emotional connection with the readers. But Anamika Mishra does it beautifully, those small letters written by her are much more emotionally impactful. I think this is the best love stories coming from Westland, I found this one much better than their current bestselling love story novels too. This one deserves to be a Bestseller!
