Wish you all a very Happy N…Umm, Nothing!

It’s been really a long since I’ve written an article. Mostly because I was out of topics, and my work and books kept me busy. But the joy of writing isn’t going to leave me anytime soon. Touchwood.

I would’ve wished you all a very Happy New Year, but I know just like me, you all are bored looking at that text since perhaps the last week of December. So, I won’t.

Waise bhi, my or anyone’s wishing and WhatsApp Forwarding isn’t going to make your year any better. It’s in your own hands to make it one of the memorable years of your valuable lives.

Talking about new year, resolution is what pops up in the mind. Each year the January witnesses new resolutions by everyone, to be forgotten till February. No, not everyone forgets to stick to their resolutions, but most of us, including me, do.

My last year’s resolution was that I would not spend any time watching anything on youtube. But when Jaby Koay, Rickshawali, Indian Booktuber dropped their new videos, I couldn’t help but watch them.

I thought about this, and I think one of the reasons we tend to break our resolutions is because we force ourselves to follow them. We don’t actually want to follow them, so eventually we don’t.

e.g One of my friends last year decided that she’ll not be addicted to her mobile as much as she was. She forced herself to not use it, this was successful for the initial week, but later on, she was so frustrated, that she ended up spending more time than usual on her smartphone.

This is mostly what happens to us too, we force ourselves.

But there is a simple technique to follow our resolution successfully, and not get frustrated…and that is…

To take one step at a time.

Yes, e.g if your resolution is to sleep early than usual, let’s assume 2 am, and if you set a resolution that you want to sleep at 10 PM, You would end up getting irritated, because you won’t be able to sleep. Your body and mind won’t accept that timeframe.

The wise way, would be to take one step at a time. If not 10, you can sleep at 1 AM in the beginning. Slowly, you could take it backwards to 12, and then 11 and in the end, 10.

And, That’s how it works.

No matter what your resolution is, doing something slowly and gradually would help you achieve it.

If you want to read more books this month than you did last year, don’t set a resolution that you are going to read 10 books in a month.

Start with 1, then 2 and so on. There are people who read as much as 10 books per month. So possibly even you can achieve it, but slowly.

So moral of the article is: ‘Take one step at a time, Don’t take direct big leaps, you may fall down.”

That’s it for today. Lookout for more articles from me in 2018.

Here I set my resolution for 2018, to write articles again, to read more books, to sleep early and to achieve some other targets I’ve set for myself.

Let me know what your resolutions are, follow the subscribe button and set your resolution that you are going to read every damn article from this blog. Also remember, read one article at a time!

Until next time,
