Then the Door Bell rang by Capri Jalota Book Review

Blurb:

One fine morning, Jane wakes up and stands upon the ledge of her 18th floor flat in Dubai Marina. Till a few years back, she was everything that would make anyone jealous – beautiful, rich and successful. But then the wheels of time turned. Today, she is miserable and lonely. Would she get over a deception? Can she forgive herself for deserting a friend? Would she ever find true love? Will karma get the better of her or will life give her another chance to correct the wrongs?

Then the Doorbell Rang is about Jane’s roller-coaster journey as she explores the mystical phenomenon called Life.

The LazyScoop Review:

The Cover of the book is simple yet attractive, and gives the impression that the story is going to be deep and mysterious.

Then the Doorbell Rang is a story of Jane, and her Journey of life. From being beautiful, successful and rich to being lonely and in a miserable state. This book is how she faces every difficult situations and seeks answers to some intriguing questions. Jane’s thoughts and description of her reaction forms the core of this book.

The Author has written the book in first person and his writing is impressive. The description of Dubai, Mumbai, every situation and place brings the picture right in front of your eyes. Jane’s thoughts and feelings are so well written that you instantly connect with her after some chapters.

There were few minor editing errors which I observed, and also the pace of the narration drops slightly slow in the middle of the book, but picks it back again towards the end.

I liked how the narration of Jane’s Past and Present was written, her childhood, her relationship with her mother, father and husband helped it connecting with the story and her even more.

Overall, the book is gripping, it tells you the story of how the protagonist overcomes the unfortunate events in her life, it definitely offers a good reading experience.
